Located in Whitecourt, and operating with a non-unionized workforce, the firm’s paper mill—the first in Alberta—produces paper of such high quality that it has become the standard by which other paper products manufactured in North America are measured. ANC is currently recruiting for the role of TMP Shift Utility Operator in the Pulping & Utilities Department. Raw water treatment, effluent treatment, chemical handling systems, water softeners/RO unit, power boilers (1st Class Plant), pressure vessels and associated equipment, thermomechanical refining equipment, chip handling equipment and a 63MW power plant. The candidate must be willing and able to advance to more senior positions in the line of progression. The TMP Shift Utility Operator also provides relief to the Paper Machine Utility position as required.
Reporting to the Shift Lead, this role allows an individual to work as part of a team on a continuous shift rotation (12-hour shifts, both days/nights). It is expected that this role be available for call-ins and overtime, as required.
We are looking for a safety-focused, self-driven individual with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. are considered valuable assets.
Participates on Team that provides fire and emergency response services
Collecting and analyzing process and boiler water samples in a laboratory
Forklift operation
Unloading/handling chemicals
Monitoring and operating process equipment
A valid Driver’s License with your own transportation is required. Previous industrial manufacturing experience is a definite asset.
~Candidates with a 4 th Class Power Engineering Certificate and working towards their 3 rd Class Certificate, coupled with relevant industrial experience, may be considered for this position.
