Role Overview

Our Calgary-based client is at the forefront of AI-powered leadership development. They are seeking a Development Team Lead to lead a growing development team and contribute with hands-on development and coding.

You will guide a team of developers, run agile sprints, mentor team members, and ensure alignment between business and technical objectives. This role requires excellent communication and prioritization skills in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support developers, fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Development: Actively contribute to the codebase, review code, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strategy: Collaborate with the CSO(Chief Science Officer) to translate business goals into technical deliverables and drive product roadmap execution.
  • Infrastructure: Oversee cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Collaboration: Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and ensure alignment between technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in software development, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript (Node.js, Express, React, React Native).
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and scalable architectures.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, AI tooling, and model training is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
