Our valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long term contract basis. Job Description: As a Contract Stress Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity and reliability of piping systems through meticulous analysis and evaluation. Working within our dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver successful projects to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the growth and success of our firm.Responsibilities:Perform detailed stress analysis of piping systems using industry-standard software such as Caesar II, considering factors such as thermal expansion, pressure, and external loads.Conduct thorough review and analysis of project specifications, design drawings, and client requirements to develop appropriate stress analysis methodologies.Provide expert guidance on material selection, pipe routing, and support design to optimize piping system performance and reliability.Identify potential design issues and recommend effective solutions to mitigate stresses, pulsations, and vibrations in piping and equipment systems.Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, and API 610.Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, calculations, and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.Support project management activities, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in stress analysis and piping engineering to continuously enhance expertise and contribute to innovation within the firm.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in the province of Alberta, Canada.Proven experience in performing stress analysis of piping systems using Caesar II or equivalent software.Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, and API 610.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.Experience with Bluebeam for stress markups and familiarity with Flexible Victaulic systems are preferred.Previous experience with slurry piping and SPR analysis would be an asset.Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
