Job Posting – Strategy Director, Governance Orchestration (AI & Digital Technologies) Location: Hybrid — Toronto or Waterloo (1 day/week in office)

The Strategy Director will serve as a senior governance leader within the Digital & GenAI Centre of Excellence. This role will define and evolve enterprise governance approaches for digital, AI, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will design and mature global governance frameworks, embed responsible AI practices, and translate complex regulatory and ethical requirements into actionable strategies that enable innovation while safeguarding trust.
Lead the evolution of enterprise governance for digital, AI, and next-generation technologies.
Anticipate emerging regulatory and ethical risks; align governance priorities with business objectives.
Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear strategies and actionable playbooks.
Governance Excellence
Design and enforce governance frameworks with alignment to internal and external standards.
Integrate governance controls directly into technology delivery workflows.
Benchmark against external regulatory developments and industry best practices.
Drive cohesion across regional and enterprise governance processes.
Identify maturity gaps and opportunities to strengthen digital and AI governance.
Champion responsible AI adoption across the enterprise.
Mobilize cross-functional teams to deliver governance programs with measurable outcomes.
Build trusted partnerships with Legal, Privacy, Risk, Data, Technology, and Business units.
Communicate complex concepts clearly to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
Represent the organization in responsible AI and ethics conversations and governance forums.
10+ years of experience in governance, risk management, privacy, information security, compliance, or related domains.
~ Experience designing and maturing enterprise governance frameworks.
~ Demonstrated ability to synthesize emerging trends and regulatory landscapes into actionable governance programs.
~ Exceptional executive-level communication and influencing skills.

AI & Cloud Technology Literacy (GenAI, cloud data foundations, AI governance frameworks)
Experience with information security or enterprise risk governance

Prior exposure to regulatory compliance for AI or digital solutions
