We are a team of software engineers, lawyers and designers working hard to achieve our long-term mission.We are seeking a Conversation/Chat Engineering Specialist (for the Backend team) with a strong background in designing and implementing chatbot frameworks and deploying natively in the cloud. We are hiring for a highly collaborative and high performance senior engineering-only team. A great candidate would specialize in building highly performant real-time chat systems. Experience with designing and creating backend frameworks for hybrid chat-bots (combining LLMs and rule-based approaches) will be a huge plus.Responsibilities:Lead by example. Hands-on problem solving, critical thinking, design thinking and extreme coding.Lead with humility, collaborate, and help flesh out the best solutions with a high performance senior engineering team.Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our platform backend using Python.Help design and implement cloud native solutions, specifically for Chat systems.Apply advanced system design patterns and architectures to ensure high performance, reliability, robustness and scalability of the platform.Work closely with Conversational AI designers, Backend Specialists, Product Developers, and leadership to consistently understand evolving needs of the Product.Balance short term wins and long term gains.Be forward looking. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, offer proposals and opinions for upcoming builds.Help design the backend for an AI-chat platform, including architecting cloud infrastructure and deployable frameworks, that seamlessly integrate and invoke several backend microservices, AI-agents, internal and external APIs – always optimizing for max efficiency.Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality code.Have a Product oriented mindset. Building backend frameworks and implementations that allow tying multiple products together into a chat-like interface.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or a related field.5+ years experience as a Platform Engineer / Backend Engineer or a similar role, specifically with Conversation Engineering. Hands-on experience with chat systems and real-time communication technologies.Extensive experience with Python programming, design patterns, async programming and familiarity with basic data analysis tools such as pandas, numpy, etc.5+ years experience in cloud native development using Amazon Web Services (AWS).Deep understanding of system architecture design.Demonstrated experience designing and developing microservices architectures, and atomized frameworks.Experience with serverless architectures and systemsExperience with AI-driven chat tools like Google Dialog-flow, IBM Watson, or creating a custom chat platform.Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.Excellent problem-solving skills.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Nice to Have:Experience with AI and Machine Learning.Experience with search technologies, including vector search.Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.Experience with Redis CacheCulture:We are a dynamic team of engineers bringing together iterative NLP model development, high performance systems engineering and effective software development.
