Convergint is currently recruiting for a Gas Calibration Technician to join their team in Fort McMurray.

*\*\* This will be a rotating shift (7/7) **for local candidates only**. This is NOT a FIFO role.*

*What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”*
* Execute calibration procedures for varying gas detection instruments currently connected and calibrated.
* Responsible for calibration of sensors utilizing equipment necessary to perform the task.
* Complete HVAC system recirculation and shutdown sequences.
* Troubleshoot basic gas detection instrument faults.
* Responsible for calibration of sensors utilizing equipment necessary to perform the task.
* Stock items and keep supply numbers accurate.
* Assist senior tech with BAS troubleshooting and tasks.
* Review all documentation when available that builds knowledge about field devices, gas detection, HVAC theory, control strategies & various software that is used at site.
* Contribute to FLHA and learn about work scope practices.
* Maintain records in SAP notification system and gain strong understanding ofit’s functionalities, e.g. searching previous work orders, function locations of equipment, uploading electronic work reports and creating child notifications.
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required by the customer and your Supervisor.
* Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
* Presents a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behaviour.
* Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations.
* Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.

*What You’ll Need*
* Valid and clean driver’s license.
* Ability to read and understand gas detection instrument manuals and documentation for installation, setup, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
* Zeroing and cleaning fundamentals.
* Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong ability to effectively identify and solve building related problems.
* Strong ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal direction.
* Demonstrate flexibility responding to emergencies and rapidly changing needs.
* Strong understanding of OHS regulations and procedures.

*Experience Requirements:*
* Foundational knowledge of gas detection instruments and building automation systems (BAS) through education and hands on experience.
* Strong understanding of gas concentrations required for devices.
* Controlling features (hardwired contacts, 4-20mA signals, etc.)
* Fundamentals of AQM (smoke monitors) calibrations
