So, Stelco is bringing together the people, technology, and unmatched market knowledge to, once again, take on that challenge from here at home.Electrical Automation Designer(Process Control Analyst (Steelmaking))Job Location Onsite2330 Haldimand Road3Nanticoke, OntarioN0A 1L0Job Type: PermanentAbout the role: We are seeking talented, motivated people to help us create the next generation of Stelco, known for consistently out-performing the competition, delivering superior returns, and creating value for our customers as a world-class supplier of innovative steel products and solutions.Safety is the Core Value of Stelco and the individual will make Safety their first priority in all work activities.Your day-to-day: You will design, develop, and troubleshoot automation systems.You will prepare estimates, documentation, and AutoCAD drawings.You will solve problems using your programming skills to write PLC, DCS and HMI code.You will have opportunities to learn the technology involved in the steelmaking process.You will work with personnel from varied disciplines in a manufacturing environment.Analyze manufacturing process improvement requests and design technical solutions.You will prepare and deliver training material.Sometimes off-hours, on-call response to high-priority issues is necessary.Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or 3-year community college diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Automation.Knowledge of electrical controls, sensors, and automation systems.Familiarity with one of the following would be an asset: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, Emerson DeltaV DCS, Wonderware InTouch and FactoryTalk View Studio HMIs, and OSIsoft PI Historian.Experience in the configuration of Microsoft operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot basic networking problems.A valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.Job Skills and Knowledge: Communicate in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience.Analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.Ability to troubleshoot and work through complex technical issues.Ability to work as part of a larger team as well as independently.Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.An interest in career development.
