The Assistant Site Superintendent supports site operations across Amico’s Design-Build projects, working closely with the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, and field teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with design intent. This role provides hands-on coordination, quality oversight, and real-time problem solving on a range of healthcare, commercial, and institutional design-build projects.
Ensuring our projects run smoothly on time, and to the highest standards.
Supporting on-site supervision of construction activities and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Assisting in coordinating daily on-site construction activities.
Supervising subcontractors and ensuring their tasks are completed efficiently.
Supporting scheduling, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Communicating updates regularly to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
Assisting with scheduling and the coordination of suppliers and sub-trades
Assisting with scheduling and coordination of crews to sites.
Completing and maintaining daily journals/site records.
Organizing/Preparing administrative documents.
Monitoring tools and equipment on site for cost control.
Reviewing and monitoring Amico and its Subcontractors’ deficiencies and required corrective actions.
Post-secondary degree or diploma from a Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management discipline preferred.
Must possess strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe. Previous HCSS software experience is preferred.
Working knowledge / understanding of surveying & site layouts, grades, etc.
Experience supervising construction sites, ideally in infrastructure or civil works.
Knowledgeable about OH&S standards, and site safety practices.
The ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proven organizational and time-management skills.
The ability to successfully apply a mix of technical expertise, team coordination skills, and attention to detail. These contributions will help deliver projects that meet expectations.
