Blue Boat Data Analyst / Senior Analyst

Blue Boat Data is an enterprise analytics SaaS company based out of New York city and Vancouver, Canada. We are a young company growing rapidly and building the next generation of Enterprise Intelligence software. Our leadership team has a combined 50 years+ of experience building and managing data, analytics, digital marketing and software across some of the world's leading brands. We felt that there continued to be significant gaps in solutions that solved the problems we faced as users. That's why we started Blue Boat Data.

BBD is looking for an outstanding Analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for analytics projects as well as analytics engineering to support our product roadmap. This role encompasses data analytics, SQL coding, report design, and product development.

You will be surrounded by a team of experts in the analytics, machine learning, software development space who themselves have deep experience working for some of the best known global brands. The opportunity to learn and grow with our company will be tremendous and exciting.

Key job responsibilities


• Talent for asking the right questions – to find the nuances, understand the key strategies that drive our customers' businesses, to reveal the truth.


• Expert SQL user. Able to query complex data and translate numbers into business facing scalable reports.


• Skilled in designing and visualizing information. Always storytelling.


• Comfortable in questioning your own conclusions.


• Skilled in seeing patterns and themes in data. Masterful synthesizer (or a genuine passion to become).


• A great storyteller.


• A champion of helping our customers be successful.

Basic Qualifications

  • Expert SQL skills.
  • 3+ years of work experience generating analytics on complex data sets. Experience with machine learning and statistical methods valuable. Two of those years must be in the field of consumer or digital marketing analytics. The job requires knowledge of B to C business models.
  • Superb verbal and written communication to communicate internally and with business partners.
  • The ability to identify and ask the right questions of our customers to understand the business problem we need to help them solve.
  • Comfort and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Deep knowledge of Excel. Data visualization tools a plus. PowerPoint a super plus.
  • Native level English fluency
