Akkodis is partnered with a leading medical device manufacturing company to recruit an Automation & Controls Technologist to join a growing team based in London, ON, where you will support the fast, safe, and high-quality manufacturing of cutting-edge medical products.Some of the key responsibilities include: Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment.Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC/relay logic systems and HMI.Investigate and resolve product and quality issues related to automated equipment.Automation & Controls Technology:Develop and implement automation systems to enhance production efficiency.Design fixtures and workstations for the safe manufacturing of medical devices.Lead quality and efficiency improvements for existing manufacturing lines.Prepare process documentation and electrical drawings.Develop training programs for assembly skills enhancement.Project Management:Lead electrical design projects for manufacturing engineering.Manage electrical utility projects for facility and grounds maintenance.Health and Safety:Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.Improve industrial health and safety programs and address safety hazards.Apply knowledge of electrical safety code in industrial wiring and power distribution.What you'll need:Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial settings.Experience in regulated industries (i.e., pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive) is an asset.Expertise in Industrial Controls electronics and PLCs.Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks 3D CAD, MS Excel, Word, and macro programming.Computer programming skills (VBA, C++, LABVIEW, or similar).PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Panasonic).Valid Industrial Electrician License (asset).Familiarity with pneumatic machinery and LEAN manufacturing principles.Additional Skills:Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities aligned with business needs.Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.If you are interested in learning more, or if you would like to discuss any other Automation & Controls Technologist related roles, don't hesitate to apply today
