Our client in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in ETL and PowerBI dashboards.Location: 1d - 2d/week in Toronto officeDuration: 6 months w/ extension optionResponsibilitiesDesign and develop reports and analytical dashboards in Power BIContribute to designing and implementation of data architecture and technology infrastructure for new data and analytics platforms with Azure data stack.Design and build scalable ETL workflows for all data ingestion into the data platformBuild custom services and workflows to provide functionality when required to complement existing tools, i.e., integrate with external web services, and third-party APIs.Create database objects with a strong understanding of data modeling.Write complex SQL for ETL and data extractions with high-performance and easy-to-manage code.Work closely with business systems analysts SMEs on projects and operations to deliver effective support, investigate root causes, recommend changes, and maintain accurate documentation.Requirements7+ years of experience in Power BI development7+ years of experience in data warehousing, designing complex SQL queries, tables, views, and procedures, including performance tuning and query optimization.Experience in PythonExperience in building complex Power BI reports, including data model in Power BI and writing DAXExpert experience in ETL processing using tools Azure Data Factory, SSIS and AirflowIntermediate to senior-level experience in operationalizing data platforms with Azure data solutions such as Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Service, Azure SynapseExperience in development with Databricks and Snowflake is preferred.Solid experience in building and maintaining dimensional data models.Hands-on experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deploymentPACE knowledge is highly desirable.
