Position Overview

As an student intern at Juno, you'll support our team on a variety of electrical engineering tasks while developing practical skills. This role is perfect for students looking to explore the field, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and build a foundation for a future career in engineering—all within a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with Electrical Design and Analysis: Help with basic design tasks, system analyses, and technical calculations under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Support Technical Documentation: Assist in preparing, reviewing, and updating drawings, specifications, and reports, learning Juno's standards along the way.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work alongside engineers and other disciplines to see how electrical systems integrate into larger projects.
  • Explore Real-World Applications: Participate in occasional site visits (when possible) to observe installations and gain practical insights into engineering projects.
  • Learn Quality and Safety Standards: Contribute to projects while upholding Juno's commitment to accuracy, safety, and excellence.

Required Experience

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Current Enrollment: Be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited institution (minimum of 2 years completed by Summer 2025).
  • Basic Knowledge: A foundational understanding of electrical systems (e.g., circuits, power distribution) from coursework.
  • Tech Skills: A familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and an interest in learning engineering software.

Desirable Skills (Not Required)

  • Exposure to the Canadian Electrical Code or industry standards through coursework or personal interest.
  • Basic experience with drafting tools like AutoCAD or analytical software (e.g., ETAP, Bluebeam) from classes or projects.
  • Previous volunteer, lab, or co-op experience in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Interest in control systems or instrumentation concepts.

Location and Commitment

  • This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with flexible work options available with occasional site visits if scheduling allows.
  • Duration: Flexible internship starting May 2025 with 4-month, 8-month and 12-month terms available.
