Title: Business Analyst (Python SQL) Location: Mississauga, ON/ Montreal, QC Duration: Long Term ContractJob Description:Act as a senior Business Analyst with previous experience working in Financial Services, governance and metadata management tools. The Business Analyst will work in a team setting to gather requirements on various metadata management tools and to support governance activities related to Data Cataloging, Glossaries, Dictionaries and Data Lineage. The role needs strong analytical skills, ability to anticipate issues, verify the enhancements, and trouble shoot production issues and must be able to problem solve and work independently. Must be adept at making data useful and digestible by all parties involved. Strong Python, SQL scripting and analysis skills are required. Experience with Snowflake, Databricks would be helpful.Major Responsibilities:Work with domain pillar and business users to understand needs and document them using various toolsAnticipate user needs and propose solutions and alternativesUnderstand functional and non-functional requirementsWork with development teams in building and testing the solutionsMaintain active communication channels with all stakeholders on deliverables and report statusesTrack all outstanding issues and manage them from initiation to production deploymentAbility to multitask and work with multiple teamsManage enhancement requests and production issues. Able to prioritize and allocate resources effectivelyQuality control of, SQL, Snowflake DataStandardize data as neededSkills: Working knowledge of the financial industry is requiredprevious experience working in a Sell Side bank is requiredDemonstrable proficiency with Python and SQL Server and data mining skillsExperience with Snowflake, Databricks helpfulExperience with Metadata management tools; Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Dictionaries and Glossaries requiredStrong verbal, written, and presentation skillsExcellent with MS Office tools (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)Working knowledge of JIRA and familiarity with Agile methodologyApplication supportRegulatory reporting
