The purpose of this position is to execute the creative designs and restaurant concept development including interiors, exterior design, space planning, 3D modelling, graphic design, and signage/artwork design. Success in this role requires supporting and partnering with key internal and external stakeholders, external consult teams to recommend and create restaurant designs that are efficient, sustainable, innovative, and attractive to Recipe brand’s current and future customers. This role will assist in major initiatives and lead design projects under limited supervision.What you will do in this role:Provide an insightful and innovative approach to design with drawing support for the Design and Construction teamSupport the coordination and creation of 3D and 2D drawings, Brand Look Books, color brochures, graphic design, and library standardsWork with the Design team to produce design layouts for multiple Brands in compliance with building codes and municipal regulationsDesign and create drawing details, presentation development, material boards, specifications and FF&E schedules, sourcing and procuring FF&E samples, etc.Implement Recipe’s standard of current and new building materials, technology, code requirements and construction industry trendsIncorporate the Interior and Exterior Design and Brand standards while coordinating with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing requirementsAlign building standards and specifications with corporate sustainability, energy conservation, and safety criteriaWork with the Design and Construction facilitating, protecting, and preserving the brand image as it relates to brand concept operational standards, and design specificationsWork within the national framework for interior and architectural design with Brand and Construction teams to develop and maintain concept designsMaintain knowledge of current and new code requirements, finishes, restaurant design, and interior design industry trendsInnovate and increase the team’s knowledge of current and new finishes and lighting materials, rendering software, and restaurant design industry trendsSupport the Design team and Architectural standards team to create the best designs and finishes costs from the approved RECIPE supplier vendorsManage multiple project deadlines and assisting to keep projects on schedule for Recipe UnlimitedCommunicate with the Design team, brand teams, external National consultants, and National vendor partners in timely mannerAssist the Design team and Architectural Standards team with innovative new design methodologies and new softwareTravel will be occasionally required to vendor and restaurant locationsWhat we are looking for from you:Bachelor's degree of interior design (preferred) or Architectural TechnologistHave experience in interior design and presentation; demonstrates creativity and aesthetic knowledgeMinimum 1-5 years of design experience working in Restaurant / Bar Interior Design / Hospitality Interior Design / Commercial retail / Architectural knowledge (required)Design and functional knowledge of restaurant equipment and restaurant operations (preferred)Must be highly proficient in 3D modeling and renderings Sketchup (required), 3D Max (optional), AutoCAD 2D (required) and fluent in Google Suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs) and MS ExcelDemonstrate an ability to coordinate with other team members and to collaborate with other professional disciplinesStrong communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesHighly organized, able to handle various types of projects, and prioritize accordinglyValid driver's license and driving record within provincial guidelinesMembership as an Intern Interior Designer with a Relevant Registered Association is considered an asset but not requiredWhat’s in it for you?Flexible/Hybrid work environmentYou’d be joining a close-knit, innovative team of creative and energetic go-gettersYou’d be a part of Canada’s largest full-service restaurant company that leads the industry in size and innovation20% associate discount dining card and monthly dining allowance valid at participating Recipe brandsA welcoming, fun and safe work environment founded on respectCareer advancement opportunities with a company that owns some of Canada’s most iconic restaurant brandsIndustry-leading benefits, wellness programs, and total rewards programsRecipe is committed to providing a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.
