Sanitation Supervisor

As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our plant operations. Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the plant Sanitation employees and activities. Your main objective will be to achieve customer quality requirements, production efficiencies, and cost-effectiveness while adhering to health and safety regulations. You will also oversee the Sanitation Shift Lead Hands and provide guidance and support to the team.Shift: Primarily Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11pm. Saturdays, 11am to 11pm based on a rotating shift with the other Sanitation Supervisor.Roles and Responsibilities: - Support the Sanitation Manager in all aspects of Sanitation to ensure smooth operations - Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of sanitation practices to meet job requirements and comply with company and regulatory standards - Provide guidance and direction to Sanitation Lead Hands and other staff - Administer Sanitation systems, including documentation, work orders, SOPs, master SSOP plans, inventory management, JHSC requests, and MSDS - Train and develop Sanitation staff in safety and sanitation procedures - Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with MOL requirements - Create, maintain, update, and implement the Sanitation Work Training Manual - Participate in internal and external audits - Supervise, coach, and monitor Sanitation Staff in a non-unionized food manufacturing environment - Set sanitation standards and SOPs - Manage pest control programs and waste disposal management programs - Ensure compliance with GFSI standards and prioritize food safety - Flexibility to work different shifts and weekends as needed - Other duties as assigned/requiredQualifications & Skills:BSc or higher preferred; open to other education levels - Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sanitation Supervisor in a large automated multi-line Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) plant - Experience in the food industry (bakery, meat, poultry, or seafood) preferred - Familiarity with food safety and related audit requirements - Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and relevant health and safety regulations - Familiarity with ERP systems such as QAD and work-order systems like EAM is an asset - Formal training/certification in sanitation Best Practices is ideal - Strong knowledge of health and safety, good manufacturing practices, and food safety - Proficiency with Occupational Health and Safety regulations - Excellent organizational and communication skills - Troubleshooting, process improvement, and mechanical aptitude - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an asset) - Proficiency in Microsoft Applications or equivalent - Action-oriented and self-starter
