*As a Licensed Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in providing efficient and accurate pharmaceutical services to patients. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will perform various tasks related to medication preparation, dispensing, inventory management, and customer service, ensuring *compliance with relevant regulations and standards. *
*Verify prescription details and patient information in accordance with pharmacy protocols.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates, and conduct regular inventory audits.
- Answer inquiries about medications, dosage instructions, and general pharmacy policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescription orders, dispensing activities, and inventory transactions. Ensure adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Quality Assurance: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, safety, and integrity of pharmaceutical products and services.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant provincial and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice, including the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards of practice and guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and pharmacy operations.
*Licensed Pharmacy Technician: Must be a registered/licensed pharmacy technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP), holding a valid Certificate of Qualification (Part A) or registered in the Pharmacy Technician program (Part B).
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician diploma program from a recognized institution. Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., Kroll, Nexxsys) and familiarity with pharmacy automation technologies. Work shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the pharmacy.
