About AFA architectsArchitecture for All is an Architecture & Interior Design practice located in Toronto, On.. We provide context driven residential & commercial designs services for our growing number of development & construction partners. AFA is currently seeking focused individuals to join our growing design team.OpportunityWe are looking for a detail oriented architect or experienced architectural technologist to join our team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be working in a hybrid model of remote and in-office, or entirely remotely. They will work on a broad range of projects, including residential low-rise, high rise, commercial and industrial. Successful candidates will be working in close coordination with the practice leader in a fast paced environment where individual contributions and efforts are recognized, and where forward thinking is encouraged. Compensation will be based on experience. Profit sharing will be offered on an individual basis based on performance.QualificationsAFA is looking for a candidate with the following skills & traits:Comprehensive knowledge of working drawing techniques and procedures.Extensive knowledge of detailing, building systems, codes (local and province) and ADA requirements.Advanced Revit skills.Knowledge of High Rise & Low Rise Residential Construction.An analytical thinker and self motivated person who is able to work independently and take initiative.Associate or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience5+ years architectural drafting experience on buildings, varying building types preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated experience in a variety of project types and project delivery methods.Technical understanding of building science and construction contracts.Attention to detail.Ability to work remotely if necessary.ResponsibilitiesReview and coordinate shop drawings.Coordinating work with other disciplines.Producing project related correspondence and reportsPrepare drawings and details of buildings according to established standards and procedures.Work collaboratively in a team environment with other CAD Technicians, Technologists, Architects and Engineers with minimal supervision.Produce working drawings for permit application and tendering.Provide project draftingBe accountable to Designers, Project Engineers and Technologists for drawing production and qualityHelp the design be more easily communicated through your drawingsVisit sites as required to confirm existing conditions and dimensions.Assist with site reviews and project administration on select projects.Create construction details and millwork as needed to assist constructionPlease enclose your resume and portfolio in a PDF file e-mailed to info@afa.to.
