EDGE Marine is looking to fill the seasonal position of Deckhand on our barge fleet. The deckhand will be working on both a steel flat deck barge, equipped with forklift and/or oil barge. These barges are towed alongside vessels to receive waste/sludge while in port. This position will require the candidate to comfortably work with ropes/lines, securing to vessels, and operating on marine crafts for extended periods. The offloading of these barges will also be required once you depart the ship. Observe all PPE & Safety Requirements of EDGE Marine/Bluewater Group/Halifax Port Authority
* Organize & stage waste materials for disposal
* Work with Environmental Officers/Marine Engineers during offload
* Be comfortable tying up alongside ships with heavy ropes/lines prior to beginning work
* Warehouse duties as needed
*Experience with waste management and/or marine environments an asset
* Must be comfortable working in a marine environment
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Ability to operate a forklift an asset
