Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a Contract role as a 3D Electrical Drafter/Designer.

Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical I&C engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services and construction management.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lay out 2D and 3D electrical trays and instrumentation.
  • Understands electrical design for industrial applications including load calculations, cable sizing, power distribution, heat tracing, modular design, equipment specification, area classification, power system studies, instrumentation, and control philosophy.
  • Understands the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Understands Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs).
  • Understands required electrical deliverables and calculations for completing electrical designs for Oil and Gas projects.
  • Maintain project drawing files and electronic drawings.
  • Assure conformity to standards and execution of the work for Quality Assurance and Control.
  • Adhere to procedures issued by company or client.
  • Work to Standard & Typical Drawings as required.
  • Meet drawing schedules and deliverables.
  • Other tasks/responsibilities, as required.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Electrical Design
  • Required: CADWorx 3D experience
  • Required: 5 – 10 years’ related experience
  • Preferred: 3D Raceway experience
  • Proficient knowledge of the English language, written and verbal
  • Familiarity with MS Office: Word, Excel, Teams
  • Must be a team player and a self-starter
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
