On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Senior Estimator (Construction ) in the Greater Toronto ONWhat is in it for you?Be a part of a dynamic, progressive global organizationAbove-average compensation packageGreat team environmentBe a part of an organization that offers career growthPOSITION SUMMARYThe Preconstruction Estimator is responsible for managing the estimating process for assigned projects or for portions of a project requiring special expertise. The Pre-Construction Estimator is accountable for the quality of the work prepared under his/her direction, and is required to work closely with the owner, design consultant and project manager to prepare cost plans, undertake value engineering, complete cost saving exercises and develop the project budget.The Preconstruction Estimator will be familiar with and follow ACL estimating and quality procedures, and will adhere to the Alberici Subcontractor Fairness Policy as well as ensuring the needs of the client are met.ABOUT ACCU-STAFFOur mission is to support businesses connect with top talent to drive mutual success through our unparalleled recruitment process. Our core values are the backbone of our business and guide our hiring process: we are both client and candidate focused, disciplined, accountable, transparent, aligned, and results orientedRESPONSIBILITIESDevelops and maintains a positive working relationship with the owner and the owner’s agents, in conjunction with Business Acquisition, by recognizing the owner’s unique proposal and project requirementsProduces detailed quantity take-off and prices labour, material and equipment portions of estimatesDevelops and maintains relationships with suppliers/subcontractors to ensure ACL receives competitive pricing for estimatesManages the estimating process, including site conditions, safety requirements, solicit suppliers and subcontractors, interprets project drawings and specifications, prepares quantity surveys, pricing of estimates, and prepares pricing of General & Special Conditions cost estimateIdentify and quantify potential project Risks. Provides assistance to management for risk analysisPre-Construction ProcurementLead internal construction project start-up meeting and administrative project set up.Actively participate in developing procurement plans, labour and equipment forecast, logistics plan and site workflow, project risk register, and project plans.Develop Bid Packages; scopes of work, drawing packages, specifications, etc.Monitor and maintain preconstruction schedule.Participate in design, constructability and value engineering reviews. Work closely with the project manager, owner, consultants, suppliers and trades to develop value engineering opportunities.Prepare and manage project budgets & estimates during the design development.Oversee the tendering, risk assessment and award recommendation process of sub -trade contracts.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesReads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, common scientific and technical journals.Practices strong communication skillsWrites routine reports and correspondenceEffectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationInterprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formApplies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsDefines problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusionsInterprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram forma nd deals with several abstract and concrete variablesOrganizes and manages time, duties, and activities efficientlyEducation and ExperiencePost-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management or related field plus 5-10 years experience.ACCU-STAFF has an accommodation process in place and provides accommodations for employees with disabilities.
