As part of a growing and dynamic commercial team, the Commercial Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting CMHC-insured and conventional commercial mortgages. The Underwriter must adhere to established policies and underwriting standards, meeting compliance and control requirements, while finding creative solutions in a timely manner in order to achieve service goals as well as annual target volumes. Additional credit-related and administrative duties are also required, such as reporting and pipeline management, as well as networking with external business partners along with various staff within the Commercial department & other internal departments.
En tant que membre d'une équipe commerciale dynamique et en pleine croissance, la personne retenue sera responsable de la souscription des prêts à la construction et des prêts à terme assurés par la SCHL, ainsi que des prêts hypothécaires commerciaux traditionnels, comme les prêts à la construction, les prêts provisoires et les facilités de crédit. Elle devra respecter les politiques et les normes de souscription établies, ainsi que les exigences de conformité et de contrôle, tout en trouvant des solutions novatrices rapidement afin d'atteindre les objectifs de service et les volumes cibles annuels. D'autres tâches administratives et liées au crédit sont également requises, comme la production de rapports et la gestion des dossiers, ainsi que le réseautage avec des partenaires commerciaux externes et divers membres du personnel du Financement commercial et d'autres services internes.
On a daily basis, the incumbent will analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities together with additional credit related and administrative duties for all mortgage product types. On a daily basis, the incumbent will communicate with external contacts (origination partners) and internal contacts (funders, managers, administrators and commercial mortgage sales staff) to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner in order to deliver superior customer service and funding deadlines (20%)
On a monthly basis, the incumbent will be responsible for various administrative and reporting duties required for the department/company which will be relied upon by Senior Management (10%)
Consacrer quotidiennement 60 % de son temps à l'analyse et la souscription des facilités de crédit commerciales et aux tâches administratives et liées au crédit pour tous les types de produits hypothécaires sur une base quotidienne. Veiller aussi à ce que les lignes directrices et les procédures établies de l'organisation en matière de prêt soient respectées, et à ce que les recommandations soient soumises à l'approbation de la direction. Consacrer quotidiennement 20 % de son temps à la communication avec des contacts externes (partenaires à l'émission) et internes (bailleurs de fonds, gestionnaires, administrateurs et personnel de vente de prêts hypothécaires commerciaux) pour que les transactions soient traitées rapidement et efficacement afin d'offrir un service à la clientèle supérieur et de respecter les échéances de financement
Consacrer quotidiennement 10 % de son temps à diverses tâches administratives et de production de rapports requises par le service ou l'organisation, sur lesquelles compte la haute direction
Bilingualism (French/English) is considered a key skill set
Proficient underwriting skills preferably with a minimum 2 years' commercial mortgage experience and/or SFR underwriting experience
Demonstrated service excellence within their field
Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word and Excel)
Strong business sense combined with sound technical knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market
Le bilinguisme (français/anglais) est un atout

Diplôme d'études postsecondaires de préférence, surtout en administration des affaires ou en finance
Bonne connaissance pratique de MS Office (principalement Word et Excel)
Compétences efficaces en matière d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes
Sens aigu des affaires combiné à une solide connaissance technique des prêts garantis et des facteurs influant sur le marché hypothécaire commercial
