Hadoop Developer/ Big Data Developer

Client: Tech Consulting (Banking Project)

Role: Hadoop Developer

Job Type: Contract (6 month) + extension

Location: Downtown Toronto (3 days in office)

Our client, a very well-known Consulting company looking to hire a Hadoop Developer for a banking project.


Your New Role:

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java and Spring Batch, along with expertise in Hadoop ecosystem technologies. This role involves working with large-scale data processing, storage, and analytics using Hadoop and related tools. If you are passionate about big data, distributed computing, and have a solid foundation in Java development, we encourage you to apply.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement Hadoop-based solutions.

• Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code in Java and Spring Batch.

• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, etc.).

• Integrate with Azure services, including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Work with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.

• Design and implement SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.

• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize Hadoop jobs.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and availability.


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Hadoop developer.

• Strong understanding of Java and Spring Batch framework.

• Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, etc.).

• Familiarity with Azure services (ADLS, ADF) is a plus.

• Proficiency in NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL).

• Solid SQL skills for data querying and reporting.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
