We are seeking a talented Power BI/Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, database management, and data visualization using Microsoft Power BI. The Power BI/Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and interactive dashboards to support data-driven decision-making within the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Data Integration: Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse or data lake.
  • Data Modeling: Design and implement data models to support reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
  • Dashboard Development: Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights.
  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize data pipelines, data models, and Power BI reports for improved performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and requirements, and provide technical expertise and support.
  • Documentation: Document data pipelines, data models, and Power BI reports to ensure transparency, repeatability, and knowledge transfer.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, database management, and data visualization using Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and database technologies (e.g., SQL, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Proficiency in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and relational modeling.
  • Experience with data integration tools and platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Power BI certification.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of programming languages for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Understanding of data security and privacy best practices.
