If you are an experienced and talented Director of Procurement with strong experience in purchasing raw material food items, then this is the role for you Our client is a leading food company and as part of their exciting expansion plans they are now seeking to hire a dynamic procurement professional to join their team. Please note this is an in office position.


In this role, key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement system-wide procurement strategies and programs designed to reduce cost, improve product and service quality and elevate supplier performance.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement plans to react.
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety.
  • Help to lower costs and secure agreements.
  • Management of procurement professionals.
  • Create and implement KPI’s.
  • Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and internal customers.
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to direct reports.
  • Support the training and development of staff.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree/diploma in supply chain management or related.
  • At least 10 years purchasing/procurement experience in the food manufacturing industry required.
  • 5+ years management of procurement professionals required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to deal with people at all levels, is required.


This is a strategic role, so we are looking for someone with a background in decision making and process improvements.
