Hospitality and Tourism Instructor


About Focus College: Focus College is committed to providing high-quality education that prepares students for successful careers. We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Instructors to teach our Hospitality and Tourism courses in the Surrey and Abbotsford campuses.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deliver engaging course content in Hospitality and Tourism. 
  • Develop and update course materials based on the Focus College course outline and guidelines.  
  • Prepare and update syllabi, course materials, and assignments. 
  • Conduct lectures, seminars, and labs as required. 
  • Evaluate and assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects. 
  • Provide academic advising and support to students. 
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development. 
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current in the field. 
  • Contribute to the academic community through service activities. 


Qualification: 

Education: 

  • A master's degree in Hospitality and Tourism or a related field; a PhD is preferred. OR
  • A bachelor of education in addition to a bachelor's degree in the field


Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the post-secondary level. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills. 
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. 
  • Experience with course development and curriculum design. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds 
  • Ability to engage and motivate students. 
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
