AWS Cloud Engineer

Experior Financial Group Inc. is looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to manage production operations for our core application software portfolio running on AWS Cloud Services. We also expect this person to take the technical lead in expanding functional capabilities, monitoring, and resource expansion in this technical environment as Experior goes through a period of rapid growth and international expansion.

Must-Have Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Infrastructure or Cloud Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field
  • AWS Certification required
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • An ability to thrive while working with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Experience working with PHP, any PHP framework, Java and Vue.js


Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS. Monitor and adjust resource capacity and utilization to ensure superior performance as workloads grow, including virtual machines and various data repositories.
  • Construct, configure and manage load balancing for a growing number of microservices.
  • Support and maintain AWS workloads according to the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Manage server configuration and environment settings.
  • Perform operations by using the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Utilize open source and third-party commercial applications to run and enhance operations.
  • Implement security controls to meet compliance requirements. Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in Canada, the US, and soon, in international expansion countries. Run regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Monitor, log, and troubleshoot systems
  • Apply networking concepts (for example, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
  • Implement architectural requirements (for example, high availability, performance, capacity)
  • Perform business continuity and disaster recovery procedures
  • Identify, classify, and remediate incidents
  • Troubleshoot production operations tickets issued by agents and/or head office employees.
  • Assist in creating new platforms to enhance company overall performance.
  • Work closely with our outsourced development team to create and enhance tools used on company platforms. Participate with them in preparing and executing releases to production, dev, and staging computer environments.
  • Prioritize tasks accordingly based on urgency and/or deadlines.
