Drake International is seeking an Estimator for our client in Winnipeg. The organization is into concrete repair and restoration, and the primary function of the Estimator is to estimate projects and lead the bidding process for the organization.


Key Responsibilities

Review proposals, bids, drawings, and specs to understand project scope and estimate needs.

Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts based on contract details.

Maintain an updated list of suppliers and contractors; obtain quotes as needed.

Develop effective bid strategies to ensure project success.

Communicate with engineers, architects, and contractors; adjust cost estimates and track changes.

Lead meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback and adjust project plans accordingly.

Monitor third-party work and billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.


Qualification

Degree in Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist preferred.

3-5 years of experience in estimating and managing industrial/commercial projects.

Skilled in reviewing plans to determine material and labor needs.

Capable of leading meetings and building consensus among stakeholders.

Strong understanding of financial management and technology tools.

Proficient in databases and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Strong math skills.

Able to create and edit project documents and presentations.
