Maintenance Mechanic

Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and service of motorized and nonmotorized equipment and assets
- Assist mechanics, fleet operations, and logistics teams as required to achieve organizational objectives
- Test, diagnose, and repair equipment for proper performance and operator safety
- Service equipment and working tools
- Perform scheduled maintenance and service on equipment and tools
- Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with management, supervisors, and key stakeholders
- Perform routine preventative engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts, replacing spark plugs, adjusting components according to specifications, and the repair or replacement of worn, defective, or broken parts
- Inspect, test, and diagnose engines for malfunctioning parts
- Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs
- Keep records and documentation of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
- Maintain efficient shop workflow through prioritization and organization
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and shop
- Consult equipment operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings to identify and order parts
- Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
- Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment
- Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears
- Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
Education & Training
- Driving License (required)
- Post-Secondary Education (preferred)
- Forklift (preferred)
- Three- to four-year apprenticeship program (preferred)
- Trade/Industry Certification (preferred)
Qualifications & Experience
- Engine Repair: 5 years (required)
- Industrial equipment repair: 5 years (required)
- Mechanically inclined
- Self-starter & able to work under pressure
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting
- Must have excellent communication and people skills
- Computer literate (experience with SiteDocs, WorkMax, MS Suite, preferred but will train right candidate)
- Practical knowledge of 2 & 4 stroke gasoline engines (typically ranging from 5- 20 HP)
- Welding and fabrication knowledge is beneficial.
- Ability to effectively and safely use powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
