Systems Business Analyst – Current State Assessment (12 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity
Project Description and Background
The successful candidate will support the Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency Program by providing business analysis services aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and IT resiliency. The company is modernizing its approach to cybersecurity to address increasing cyber-attack threats and support innovation and growth.
Services:
- Work closely with the program team and stakeholders to provide comprehensive business analysis.
- Document current IT infrastructure workloads and develop a hardware replacement and cloud migration strategy.
- Identify and document business problems, opportunities, risks, and primary objectives.
- Lead stakeholder discussions to gather and analyze requirements.
- Evaluate information to create detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Document business requirements and high-level system design, coordinating reviews and sign-offs.
- Document current and future business processes using standard notation and diagramming methods.
- Prepare and present decision documentation to key stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, risk and issue logs, and status reporting materials.
Deliverables:
- Cloud migration recommendations.
- Hardware replacement strategy.
- Summaries of on-prem and cloud workloads.
- Risk and issue logs.
- Use Case documents or User Stories.
- Current and future state process diagrams.
- Fit-gap analysis documents.
- RACI matrices.
- Decision analysis documents.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- User guides and training materials.
- Meeting agendas, minutes, and action items.
- Program status reports.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 7+ years of business analysis experience.
- Experience with cybersecurity, IT resiliency, and IT infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree with formal business analyst training.
- Understanding of data center technologies, on-prem networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with current state assessments and cloud migration approaches.
- Ability to work with data from IT management tools (e.g., vSphere, Azure).
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Experience leading teams of business analysts and subject matter experts.
- Proven ability to gather and document business requirements.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Visio.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
