We are a full-service Mechanical, Electrical and ICAT Engineering Firm, offering Professional Engineering Services through all phases of a Project: from early Master Planning to Detailed Design and Bid Document preparation, right through to Construction and Contract Administration; in both the traditional and alternative finance and procurement (AFP) project delivery models.
Position Description:
Quasar Consulting Group is currently seeking a Electrical Designer / Engineer to join us in our North Bay office..
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work efficiently on multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Design building systems in accordance with office standards, the requirements of municipal or provincial building codes, and other applicable standards.
- Design electrical building systems directly in Revit/CAD; adhering to company BIM/CAD standards.
- Liaise with all stakeholders including owners, architects, interior designers, project consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Assist with the distribution of work between the internal design team and attend project/technical meetings.
- Complete construction administration by reviewing equipment shop drawings and conducting site visits, site reviews and preparing change notices, site instructions, etc.
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by Sector Lead required to assist in the completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- Three or more years of direct industry experience in the field of electrical building services.
- Expertise will include high, medium, and low voltage distribution and protection, lighting, dimming control, emergency and standby/critical power, grounding, lightning protection, data and voice communication, electronic sub-metering and fire alarm systems.
- Diploma or Degree from an electrical building services program.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP.
- Knowledge and experience working with Revit is an asset, with exposure to electrical layouts and systems
