Note: While the role is expected to be fully remote, any expenses related to attending onsite meetings are not covered by the client.

The Technical Architect role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, development, and delivery of multiple projects and services related to Microsoft 365 (M365) and cloud technologies. Project Name and Scope:

  • Cloud Migration: Transitioning to cloud-based infrastructure and services.
  • Cloud Service Enhancements: Improving existing cloud services for better performance and functionality.
  • Platform Enhancements: Enhancing the underlying platform to support cloud services and M365.

Responsibilities of the Technical Architect:

  • Researching and evaluating technology trends.
  • Architecting new IT services and developing solution papers and test plans.
  • Evaluating and recommending actions for current services.
  • Collaborating with teams on proof of concept and limited production rollouts.
  • Providing quality control on production implementations.
  • Communicating operation guidelines and policies.
  • Reviewing new service and technology requests and assessing their impact.
  • Assisting in project planning, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Documenting technical recommendations and providing guidance to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring change management processes are followed.
  • Making recommendations regarding issues, risks, and client satisfaction.
  • Tracking and reporting work status.

Equipment Requirements:

  • The resource must provide their computer and related equipment.
  • The computer's operating system must be compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access.
  • In case of remote work, the contractor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment.

Mandatory Training:

  • The hired resource must complete mandatory training, including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training.

Interview and Scoring:

  • Interviews are anticipated to be held between May 8-9, 2024.
  • Scoring methodology includes financial/pricing (20%), resource qualifications (20%), and interview process (60%).

Overall, the role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a strong understanding of government policies and procedures.

Work Experience

  • 4 Years - Experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting infrastructure and application solutions in an architecture capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to that of a client
  • 1 Year - Experience developing on cloud platforms and utilizing cloud services in development and solutions.
  • 1 Year - Experience in IT infrastructure architecture and the relationships among the components that make up an IT service from end-user devices to servers, networks, storage, applications and data.
  • 3 Years - Experience supporting an enterprise IT environment.
  • 3 Years - Experience working directly on-site with end users troubleshooting technical computer-related issues including software and hardware.
  • 3 Years - Direct involvement in developing best-practices documentation (for example, operational procedures, network diagrams, etc.).
  • 3 Years - Experience assisting clients to execute strategies with technology, process, organizational design and IT operations.
  • 2 Years - Experience in the completion of the migration of applications and other technologies from one environment to another. E.G. Moves between data centers, moves to different platforms, moves to the cloud from on-premise installations
  • 3 Years - Experience in defining technical architecture, building technical environments, supporting software development processes and initiatives, software configuration and database management.
  • 3 Years - Experience leading an organization through a large-scale technology change impacting all levels of the organization.
  • 5 Years - Experience using MS Office 2010 products or higher versions.
  • 5 Years - Experience working in or for the public sector.
