Description:
Our client is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager for a minimum 6 months.
Role
This position requires a self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure successful execution of a variety of concurrent business projects and apply appropriate judgement on project priorities, risks, and challenges.
The successful candidate will be accountable for guiding and supporting delivery for all assigned projects, including developing subject matter expertise in the business and relevant capabilities, supporting Business Analysts/Consultants in understanding and communicating business aspirations and strategies, and developing effective partnerships with multiple stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the delivery and execution of all phases of assigned projects from initiation to closure, managing timelines, budget and scope for multiple concurrent projects
- Effectively communicate with and present to project leadership and sponsors/stakeholders (including senior leaders) to gain buy-in, facilitate decision making and promote confidence in the ability to deliver
- Build collaborative relationships with project sponsors and stakeholder teams
- Develop comprehensive project plans that align scope, time, cost, quality, resources and risks with on-going monitoring of project execution for any deviations from the plan, invoking corrective action and contingency plans where necessary
- Motivate, engage and focus efforts of multi-site project teams by providing clear direction, ensuring access to required tools and removing barriers as necessary
- Establish effective project communications, ensuring that project delivery expectations are clearly understood and specified, and that information/updates are distributed in a timely manor to ensure stakeholder buy in and project success
- Prioritize and manage own workload and the workload of project team members in order to deliver quality results against aggressive timelines
- Build and maintain detailed schedules and RAID logs, proactively managing risks/issues while effectively leveraging the change control process and escalating for support and awareness as appropriate
- Play a role in organizing, attending and facilitating project workshops with diverse group of stakeholders
- Ensure that appropriate processes and techniques are being leveraged by project teams, identifying any necessary training or support required
- Ensure all projects have appropriate level of governance and are executed with demonstrated alignment to project execution standards and practices
- Ensure successful and seamless transition of projects to Operations upon project completion
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager
- Ideal experience – Group Benefits or Group Disability projects
- Office suite focusing on Tableau, Miro, Visio, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
- Ideal – Insurance/Financial Industry experience
