Our Challenge:

We are seeking a skilled Senior C#/.NET Developer with extensive experience in developing WinForms applications on the .NET Framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in C# and be comfortable working with .NET Core/ASP.NET applications as well, particularly when integrating with RESTful APIs. Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like ReactJS or Angular is considered a plus. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for our clients.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON $110k-$130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Application Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using C# and the .NET Framework, primarily focused on WinForms.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and integrate RESTful APIs using .NET Core or ASP.NET, ensuring seamless data flow between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Technical Leadership:
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices in C# programming, WinForms development, and application architecture.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with product management and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to create cohesive and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Identify performance bottlenecks in applications and implement solutions to enhance performance and user experience.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, advocating for improvements and modernization of the application stack.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of applications.
  • Participate in the testing process, ensuring that applications meet quality standards and user expectations.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on C# and the .NET Framework, particularly with WinForms applications.
  • Proficient in .NET Core and ASP.NET; experience with RESTful API development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like ReactJS or Angular is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) and CI/CD practices.
