The Opportunity: SEARCH ASSOCIATE

Reporting to the Partners in Vancouver, the Search Associate contributes to all functions related to the execution of executive search mandates. This includes development of the research strategy, drafting search process documents, identifying potential candidates, contracting and assessing potential candidates, managing relationships with candidates, and supporting Consultants and Partners as required, including in the logistics and coordination of executive search processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge of related industries and sectors broadly to be an effective support in the search process;
  • Participate in search launch meetings with the client and Consultant/ Partner to develop an understanding of client needs and challenges;
  • Establish research strategies by conducting industry/ sector research and identifying targeting companies;
  • Contact sources to gather market intelligence and identify potential candidates;
  • Identify potential candidates and candidate contact information through research and referrals;
  • Make use of technology to support effective research;
  • Contact potential candidates to solicit interest and applications;
  • Conduct screening interviews with identified candidates to assess their professional qualifications, career motivation and interests;
  • Maintain constant contact with the lead Consultant/ Partner as to search progress, and maintain regular contact with candidates to keep them informed of search process timelines;
  • Support the Consultant/ Partner in facilitating interviews;
  • Support the Consultant/ Partner in final candidate due diligence by conducting reference and background checks;
  • Support the Consultant/ Partner in effective project management through proactive planning and organisation to meet project timelines and milestones


Required Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in business/commerce, human resources, communications or a related field;
  • Professional-level English language skills,
  • Demonstrated experience with in-depth online research and analytical skills,
  • Competence and comfort using modern technologies and business tools including CRM software,
  • Knowledge of business and human resource best practices will be an asset,
  • Knowledge of Canadian Indigenous communities and markets will be an asset.
