Greater Toronto Area, Canada Green Infrastructure Partners Full time

Reporting to the Manager,Operations the Surveyor will help with maintaining legal descriptions, verifying survey data and works with the surveying team to perform various surveying tasks.


Key Responsibilities include :

  • Prepares and maintains sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed for redlines and as-built drawings.
  • Plans and conducts ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements using GPS and robotic survey equipment and software.
  • Verifies the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Ensure survey equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Records the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of existing conditions or new construction features.
  • Interprets contract items and distribute quantities in applicable unit pay items.
  • Calculates heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of existing conditions or new construction features.
  • Interprets contract drawings and calculates cubic volumes (i.e. cut to waste, cut to fill, sub-excavation).
  • Performing topography and quantity surveying for earthworks and construction layout.


Positions Requirements :


  • A post-secondary diploma in a civil engineering technology/construction management program.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical surveying/layout experience on heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proficient in Robotic Total Station, GPS, CAD and MS Office software.
  • Proficient with the use of GPS and survey measurement equipment.
  • Mathematical aptitude to complete surveying calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, plans and layout sheets and keep legible survey notes.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings.
  • Ability to work with a construction team and report to a project manager, project coordinator and superintendents regularly.
  • Excellent communication skills for maintaining relationships with employees and public.
  • A valid G license is required.
