Claims Assessor

Our professional services is currently seeking a Claims Assessor to join their growing team for a 12-month contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have experience processing and reviewing class action settlement claims.
This is a fully REMOTE position, and the individual can be located anywhere in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document administrative duties including filing and storage.
- Verifying data from paper or electronic forms into a standard database.
- Assisting with coordination and logistics of meetings, travel, and expense tracking.
- Reviewing submitted claim forms to determine whether the applicant meets claims requirements.
- Identifying irregularities on claim forms and submitted documentation, and flagging issues as required.
- Contacting class members to obtain required information, documentation, or confirmations when necessary.
- Preparing notifications to claimants pertaining to claim status, review decisions, and instructions.
- Answering incoming phone calls to assist and direct claimants and representatives in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in business management, accounting, risk management, legal studies, or related field preferred.
- 3+ year of industry experience, with previous experience in claims administration, underwriting, or clerical review preferred.
- Ability to read and understand necessary documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
