New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an IT Technical Design Lead to help our client with a large capital facility project. This position will be responsible for preparing technical solutions designs that are handed to the IT delivery teams to procure, configure, test and merge into operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Liaises and communicates with the Builder design & construction teams and their equipment vendors on technical design, installation, configuration, and commissioning matters
  • Provides IT technical considerations, requirement clarifications and input to facility design processes such as Design Documentation, Specifications, and Construction Drawings as required
  • Works with Solutions leadership, to prepare cost projections of the IT Master Plan (capital costs, one-time operating project costs and on-going operating costs), as required
  • Provides input into an IT Delivery Plan that accounts for all IT components that are needed for a smooth transition and move-in (the complete “book of work”)
  • Supports IM and IT delivery managers with technical solution designs on early implementation initiatives trailing and tuning new applications, technologies, and equipment ahead of building handover and move in
  • Tracks each initiative in the redevelopment and periodically analyzes if the project’s technical solution designs are being implemented as intended
  • Communicates to the delivery teams and Solution leadership the need to update the IT Delivery Plan or technical solution designs
  • Provides input and guidance to the Clinical Service planning teams about IT technical solution decisions and scope
  • Provides input to IT budget submissions and resource plans
  • Collaborates with the project’s Equipment planning team, ensuring equipment IT assessments and implications are considered and IT dependencies of equipment are considered in equipment procurement
  • Provides input to the delivery teams for the build/configure, test, and go-LIVE of the various supporting technical solution design components required for the clinical operations of the new facility
  • Provides input and guidance to the system commissioning plans and go-LIVE planning that align with the clinical and operations transition and move-in planning


Requirements:


  • 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, and configuring IT technical solutions for Solution Architects and/or Application Owner Teams and/or IMIT Vendors
  • Exceptional English language oral and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with senior technical and non-technical executives such as explaining situations and assisting in rendering decisions
  • Experience with large health care organizations and P3/DB IT infrastructure projects


Understanding and experience working with the following specialist groups and areas:


Network Administration:

  • Administer Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs) and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and certify new network gear
  • Install network gear, network firmware and software
  • Manage IP schema
  • Configure NetworkSpine and Leaf, Network Core, Network Edge, WIFI from CISCO, HPE and Arista
  • Data center administration who –
  • Follow communication standards such as server rack mounting, power up equipment, patch cabling, network connections, elevation drawings and labelling
  • Ensure compliance with critical Data Centre best practices
  • Monitor environmental conditions through DCIM reporting and alerts and coordinating incidents with Facility teams


Security Administration:

  • Perform network administration on firewalls, load balancers, routers and switches
  • certificates, certificate authorities, encryption protocols, key types, and OpenSSL
  • Networking, firewalls, VPNs, WANs, MPLS, and routing policies, SSH, RDP, X2GO, VNC, SFTP, SMB, AFP, and NFS, security technologies (IPSec/SSL VPN's, IDS/IPS, UTM, WAF),
  • F5 LTM / GTM / ASM experience


Database Administration:

  • Maintain relational and non-relational databases and knowledge of database coding for various platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server and Clusters)
  • Design and implement database structures and automating DBA tasks
  • Data modeling and schema design
  • Install database system software


Storage Administration:

  • Maintain SAN and NAS systems and configuring iSCSI connectivity
  • Data backups and restores
  • Monitoring regular backup operations, maintain, test recovery infrastructure, and verify backup data integrity


Server Administration:

  • Configure, optimize, and maintain business and/or clinical application servers
  • System resource allocation, virtualization and storage planning, and service performance
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Group policy, account setup, and templates
  • Install and upgrade server components and software, manage servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Deploy and manage Windows Server clustering, Hyper-V virtualization, performance monitoring, backups, and replication for HPE Synergy and HPE SimpliVity technologies,
  • Windows Server, Windows applications, configuration, management, and maintenance
  • Linux servers, Linux applications, configuration, management, and maintenance
  • RAID, ZFS RAID pools, BTRFS RAID pools, MDADM & Windows software RAID
  • File system, BIOS, and hardware encryption technologies for data at rest encryption


Technical Solution Design:

  • Current State Assessment (Infrastructure and/or Application)
  • Enterprise Architecture Development and Technical Solution Design Process
  • Translating business requirements into Technical Solution Design for agile installation
  • Ability to evaluate contract documents such as RFP's, RFI's, RFQ's, SOW's
  • Technical Solution Documentation and Communication
  • Architecture Repository
  • Security Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA) fact gathering and coordination with Cybersecurity teams
  • Privacy and Security standards and requirements
  • Coordination with Privacy teams
