Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Manager of Agronomy at Northern Nutrients in Saskatoon, SK. The Manager of Agronomy will be responsible for implementing local trials of Sulphur Fertilizer, compile data, and communicate results and best use practices to the market. The candidatee will also implement the Technology Development Plan (TDP) to improve on current products and develop new products to better fit the agronomic needs of the market and manage the complex issues that arise from the launch of Sulphur based Fertilizers. A qualified technical agronomist will oversee various aspects of agricultural research, product development, and implementation strategies is required..


Key components/Objectives of the project

Product development and Field trials- The agronomy team will collaborate with the research and development team to assess the performance of existing products by compiling current data that Northern Nutrients has as well as collecting past data from Shell and identify opportunities for improvement. This involves communicating with past consultants and conducting field trials on our novel sulphur products that ultimately provide oxidation and yield results vs alternative products in the market and evaluating the efficacy of different formulations.


Monitoring and evaluation- Throughout the project, ongoing monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of agronomy strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.


Job responsibilities of technical agronomist

Conduct local trials with third party agronomists on our novel Sulphur products that ultimately provide Oxidation and Yield results vs alternative products in the market.


Compile and communicate trial data that effectively builds trust and confidence in the product with all customers, stakeholders, and Northern Nutrients staff.


Work with Northern Nutrients Sales and Marketing staff on Sales Materials that reflect product advantages, trial results, and best practices.


Conduct presentations to Agronomic Stakeholders and Customers in the varying Geographic markets that Northern Nutrients engages in.


Work with Director of Corporate Development to manage TDP to hit long term objectives of the Northern Nutrients Ltd.


Use TDP to guide in acquiring and developing new products that fit our model and bring mutual success to the Global Ag Sector and Northern Nutrients Ltd.


Work with Northern Nutrients Sales Staff to manage any Agronomy issues that come about during the growing year.


Work alongside Manager of Quality Control on special projects to develop new and existing products to ensure the customers have the best experience when handling Northern Nutrients Products.
