We are a rapidly growing e-commerce business with operations across two Shopify stores serving the US and Canada markets. Roo & You is a community-driven business dedicated to creating fun, design-forward products that are a lot less about being expensive and a lot more about having fun. We help kids and families dream, build, and play in a safe environment. We are looking for a talented and motivated E-commerce Specialist who can also take on some higher-level management responsibilities.
Job Description:
The E-commerce Specialist will manage the day-to-day operations of our Shopify stores, including overseeing product listings, promotions, SEO, and customer service. This role also involves higher-level tasks such as performance analysis, strategic support, and collaboration with the marketing team on digital campaigns. You will work in a fast-paced environment where priorities and strategies can shift rapidly to adapt to market demands, making flexibility and quick thinking essential. You will act as a product lead for for redesign and support projects, integrating UI/UX mockups, ensuring high-quality code and performance, and staying updated on the latest web technologies and trends. This position offers the opportunity to grow into a more senior role as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Management: Oversee the creation, updating, and optimization of product listings, including descriptions, images, pricing, and inventory management.
- Site Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to improve site visibility and search rankings. Regularly audit and update site content to ensure accuracy and optimization. Staying updated on the latest web technologies and trends.
- Digital Marketing Support: Assist with online marketing tasks, including email marketing, social media, and paid advertising, and coordinate with the marketing team.
- Customer Service: Collect user feedback from various sources (web, CS Team, social media) to recognize website improvements or optimizations.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze store performance metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, and sales data. Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall e-commerce performance. Optimize performance, as it is key in e-commerce.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies that align with business goals. Contribute to the overall e-commerce strategy.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on e-commerce activities, including sales, traffic, and customer feedback, and present findings to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, related field or a equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years of e-commerce experience, particularly with Shopify.
- Strong understanding of basic SEO principles and Shopify SEO practices, digital marketing, and e-commerce best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and offer actionable insights.
- Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and Shopify platform.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Resourceful, autonomous, and versatile.
- Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party service integration.
Not Required, But a Plus:
- Bilingualism.
- Experience in developing responsive web and mobile-first solutions.
- Experience with connected external systems (PIM, DAM, ERP, etc.).
- Experience in HTML, CSS, SASS or LESS, and JavaScript.
- Experience in customer service and inventory management.
- Experience with Shopify’s templating language (Liquid).
- Experience acting as a developer on redesign and support projects.
