Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Scientist in Proteomics to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, executing, and analyzing proteomics experiments, leveraging your expertise in advanced mass spectrometry techniques and data analysis. Your contributions will enhance our understanding of complex biological systems and support the development of innovative therapeutic solutions. This position presents an exciting opportunity to apply cutting-edge proteomics technologies to accelerate drug discovery and development.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and execute proteomic experiments to identify and validate drug targets, investigate target engagement, and assess drug response in cellular and animal models.
  • Utilize advanced mass spectrometry techniques, such as discovery and targeted proteomics, to profile protein expression, protein-drug interactions, and protein-protein interactions.
  • Develop and optimize sample preparation protocols to ensure compatibility with downstream proteomics analyses and maximize the coverage of the proteome.
  • Apply bioinformatics tools and statistical methods to analyze proteomic data and identify biomarkers, pathways, and networks relevant to drug discovery.
  • Provide scientific leadership and guidance to junior scientists and research associates involved in proteomics experiments, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, methodologies, and trends in proteomics and drug discovery, and evaluate their potential application in our research projects.


Education & Certifications

PhD or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related discipline.



Requirements


  • Knowledge and experience in discovery proteomics and/or targeted proteomics
  • Knowledge of the application of proteomics in drug discovery such as covalent programs and targeted protein degradation is desired.
  • 2 years experience in proteomics workflows including chemoproteomics, affinity purification-mass spectrometry, and proximity labeling are definite assets.
  • 2 years expertise in operating orbitrap and/or TOF mass spectrometers.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and experience in a scripting language (e.g., R, Python).
  • Proficiency with open-source and vendor-specific proteomic software such as Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, MS Fragger, etc. are desired.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present scientific data, and propose next steps in experimental design and project strategy.
  • Driven by scientific excellence and cost/process efficiency.
  • Offers timely results through sound judgment and scientific knowledge.
  • Thinks critically and generates creative solutions to challenging scientific questions.
  • Approaches work with an entrepreneurial mindset, working independently and seeking professional input when necessary.
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
