The Systems Administrator manages the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations. The administrator demonstrates an understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems. The administrator researches new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently. Additionally, the administrator performs Service Desk and Deskside Support functions.
Essential Functions

1.Builds and maintains web, virtual, and client server environments for the enterprise
2.Maintains the operations of all virtual, web, and client systems to ensure availability
3.Troubleshoots and resolves any IT service issues related to operating systems and servers
4.Partners with the infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues
5.Follows the systems business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure
6.Trains the technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems
7.Builds and implements software standards for servers, operating systems, and end-user workstations
8.Leverages optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all computer systems
9.Works with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills
10.Performs Deskside Support responsibilities for Peak Toolworks, as the Systems Administrator role at Peak Toolworks fills both the Systems Administrator as well as Service Desk & Deskside Support roles.
11.Complies with, supports, and enforces Peak Toolworks policies and procedures.
12.Communicates and maintains good rapport with colleagues and staff.
13.Keeps the Senior Team informed of progress, issues, problems and successes.
14.Develops and maintains a positive and professional work environment.

Performance Management and Success in the Role
The output of the Systems Administrator will be linked to the corporate goals of Revenue Expansion and EBITDA enhancement but will also include the ability to connect with customers, understand the business, and assist all users of Peak Toolworks information technology systems. Has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is a moderately sedentary role; however, some physical work is required. This would require the ability to lift computers, servers, network devices, backup UPS devices, and other computer equipment, as well as bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, with some after hours and weekend hours as required by various project and support needs.
Travel
This position may require up to 25% travel.
Required Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s in computer science, management information systems, or related field
•More than three years of experience in relevant business systems, operating systems, and servers as a systems administrator or similar role.
•Experience in light programming/scripting, project management of small initiatives, and troubleshooting
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
•Working knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. Systems, Protocols, Directory Services)

•Windows Server 2008-2019

•Host/storage/backup environments
Strong Preference
•Bi-lingual: Fluent in writing and speaking both English and French
