About the faculty and department

About the position

The Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications program invites applications for sessional instructor positions available for the Spring 2025 [April] academic term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates.

Per course rate: $7,200 (paid in installments)

Academic Term: Spring 2025( April 13 - June 29, 2025)

Mode of Delivery: This is a hybrid role. Sessional instructors are required to teach on -site for a minimum of 2 days per week, though this will depend on their teaching schedule.

DMGC 630: Digital Visualization

DMGC 640: Digital Media Entrepreneurship

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly lecture, review lecture material
  • Lecture and teach students in a variety of delivery modes, creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Invigilate quizzes, tests & exams, complete grading of quizzes, tests, assignments & exams
  • Meet with or respond to students' inquiries during office hours
  • Update material and grades on internal software

The successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • A Doctorate/Ph.D. in Digital Media, Communications or a related field.
  • Teaching experience in the topics of: Multimedia Technology and Design, Intercultural Communications, Research Methods in Digital Media and Communications, Design Thinking & Digital Media, Interactive communications, Data Analytics in Digital Media, Digital Storytelling & Brands, Digital Visualization, Tools of Digital Media, Metaverse, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Neuromarketing, Quill for VR.
  • Related industry experience and expertise in Digital Marketing, Communications, Brand Marketing etc. to enhance student learning through real life scenarios and case studies.
  • Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is a significant asset.
  • Curriculum development experience for on-site, online and hybrid delivery.
  • Ability to mentor and advise students in their academic and professional endeavors.
