Role Overview:

The Senior Architectural Technologist role is primarily dedicated to commercial project work, allowing candidates to apply and advance their existing expertise in creating detailed, code-compliant Revit drawing packages. Working closely with in-house and external teams, this high-impact position supports projects through every stage, from initial design to construction documents, and is ideal for a technically skilled, detail-oriented professional who aims to influence the built environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Documentation: Collaborate with the design team to create and refine conceptual design drawings and technical documentation primarily focusing on commercial projects.
  • Technical Drafting in Revit: Develop accurate Revit drawings and comprehensive construction documents that meet high technical precision and visual clarity standards.
  • OBC Compliance: Conduct detailed Ontario Building Code (OBC) reviews, ensuring all phases meet regulatory and project-specific requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Engage with clients, builders, and consulting engineers, maintaining clear, proactive communication on project requirements and modifications.
  • Construction Support / Administration: Review and mark up construction documents for accuracy, overseeing the design’s integrity through the construction phase.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in architectural technology, with substantial commercial project experience preferred.
  • Education: Diploma in Architectural Technology or Construction Engineering Technology.
  • Building Science Expertise: Deep knowledge of OBC, construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Revit and experience in AutoCAD.
  • Communication & Organization: Strong attention to detail, effective prioritization of tasks, and capacity to handle multiple commercial projects under tight timelines.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
