Based in Cranberry Portage, MB, the Itinerant Industrial Arts Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging instruction on practical skills such as computer drafting and design, interactive digital media, metalworks/welding, small engine repair and woodworking/building construction to students throughout the Division. The incumbent will be required to travel a minimum of 18 weeks of the approximately 40-week school year using a school division truck and trailer to bring the appropriate tools to the schools. The remaining time will involve working with students in and around the Area 4 Office including working with students from across the school division who are in Cranberry Portage for specialty programming.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education in Industrial Arts, or equivalent.

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)

Valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher with the ability to tow a trailer.

Demonstrated expertise and professional experience in interactive digital media, metalworks, small engine repair, and woodworking.

Strong instructional skills and ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students with varying levels of proficiency.

Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into instructional practices.

Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment with a focus on Mamàhtawisiwin.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders.
