Requirements:

Bachelor of Education

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Experience teaching in special education in an elementary school setting.

Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning, Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.

Monitoring Behaviour patterns of children and applying appropriate interventions.

Effective organizational and classroom management skills are imperative.

Ability to integrate and use technology in the classroom.

Ability to create goals for Individual Program Plans as well as implement the plan for students.

A strong ability to build relationships with elementary school students and parents.

A willingness to contribute to the school community.

Knowledge of English as a second language and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is considered an asset.

Knowledge of The Regulated Classroom or a willingness to participate in professional learning

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset
