Security Technician (Installation & Service)

We need 8 electricians or safety technicians with CCQ cards, and 2 without.

The electrician/technician is responsible for network, fiber optic and security cabling, installation and technical support on security components such as :
- Video surveillance / IP cameras (such as I-PRO, Hanwha,Bosch)
- Access control (such as Genetec, ICT, Kantech, Bosch, Gallagher)
- Conventional alarm technologies, panels and motion detectors (such as Bosch, DSC and Paradox) as well as
- VMS (such as Milestone, Genetec, Exacq)
- Panduit and Leviton

The work will be mainly in the greater Montreal area, but for those interested, they may be required to work elsewhere in Canada on special projects. The successful candidate will be passionate about the security industry.

- Carry out network and fiber optic cabling and security components
- Install alarm, access and camera equipment
- Inspect and maintain alarm, access and camera systems
- Manage small and medium-sized projects and eventually manage major projects as site superintendent, supported by our project managers
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies
- Collaborate with colleagues as well as work independently
- Ensure proper maintenance of corporate vehicle and inventory
- Complete reports and document work performed.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, thoroughness, excellent customer orientation and service.
- Complete all administrative tasks related to the job, including time sheets and inventory management.
Required
- CCQ-Compagnon card preferably trade 220 Electrician, 222 Security System Installer (CCQ-Apprentice will be considered and non-CCQ will also be considered for service team)
- Bureau de la Sécurité Privée card an asset. No criminal record
- Valid driver's license, good record.

- Ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment
- Overtime (if required) and participate in on-call rotations (for service technicians).

The company provides a lettered corporate vehicle and gas card, as well as training and certifications as required.

Basic Requirements

  • Technical College Diploma in appropriate field or 5 years of equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum 2 years in commercial security system install and repair
  • Bilingual
Additional Qualifications
  • Able to pass all Security and other Clearances as required
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer programming and or networking education and or experience will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Security systems, Access control, CCTV, Digital Video and Controlling software
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done
  • Positive teamwork with co-workers, customers and contractors
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as lifting over 25Lbs, climbing ladders
  • Coordinate, install and program systems as per the customer’s specifications
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives and Project Managers
  • Work to meet project estimation and deadlines
  • Standby (on call) rotation and overtime for after hours, weekends and holidays
