We are seeking a temporary full-time teacher to teach Junior High Physical Education (Grade 8) one grade 8 Science class, one grade 8 Social Studies class and Junior High CTF (electives). This position will commence for the 2024/2025 school year (August 26, 2024).

We are seeking a teacher who:

Appropriate educational training and experience teaching the Alberta Jr. High Physical Education curriculum;

Appropriate educational training and experience teaching the Alberta Jr. High Social Studies/Science and CTF curricula;

A strong understanding of outcomes based assessment practices;

Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team;

A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning environment;

A strong belief in parent involvement and communication including regular communication with home beyond the use of report cards;

Strong organizational and classroom management skills;

In depth knowledge of and experience with current outcomes based assessment practices and ability to develop multiple assessments such as portfolios and projects, in addition to more traditional assessments;

An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, emotional and/or curricular needs within the classroom setting;

Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for same;

Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
