Expertise and consulting services are provided in petroleum geology and reservoir engineering, reserves estimation, technical and resource studies, carbon capture and economic evaluations (including financial reporting, financing support, acquisitions and divestitures and fair market value opinions). 


McDaniel is regarded as an industry leader for its technical and business acumen with experience encompassing both domestic and international evaluations in conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

As an engineer within our advisory group, you will be exposed to high profile projects related to asset acquisitions and divestitures, regional supply studies, unconventional asset optimization, corporate due diligence and regulatory policy support.   


Our clientele primarily consists of E&Ps, private equity, pension funds, banking institutions, midstream companies and government agencies. 


Who you are: 

McDaniel is looking for an Advisory Engineer-in Training to join our emerging energy advisory team. You will be responsible for supporting high-impact projects, and developing and implementing practices that will scale and grow our practice.  


We are looking for candidates with: 

  • Problem solving mentality and desire to understand “why” and “how” of complex issues 
  • Experience working with data to identify root problems and build solutions  
  • Ability to work well within an integrated team 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging for a suite of audiences (technical and commercial) 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
  • EIT’s with an interest in working in a fast pace and demanding work environment  


Responsibilities will include exposure to: 

  • Technical forecasting of well performance based on reservoir engineering and geological principles  
  • Data analytics in support of technical forecasts 
  • Creation and analysis of technical and economic models for asset and corporate level valuations 
  • Asset rationalization and development optimization 
  • Evaluations and reporting of oil and gas reserves and resources for regulatory purposes and debt and equity financing 
  • Significant email, phone, virtual and in-person meeting interaction with clients and decision makers
