Utility Billing Coordinator

The Billing Coordinator is responsible for supporting utility clients with
day-to-day meter-to-cash processes and contact center operations.
Responsibilities
- Process and track payment files (PAP, lockbox, web payments, cheques, EFT) daily
- Fulfill daily collections procedures
- Perform batch & cycle validations
- Ensure utility bills are issued on time and accurately on behalf of the clients
- Perform daily off-cycle billing activities involving final bill preparation, validations, and any necessary adjustments
- Manage collection, cashiering and final read request related service orders
- Respond to incoming customer inquiries (public and client related)
- Input data through manual and automated processes
- Administer reporting through various platforms (Teleworks, consolidated usage, developer listings, customer counts, month end and year end reporting)
- Review standard operating procedure documents as required
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Experience with utility Customer Information System (CIS) applications is a must
- Experience in a billing or customer service role within a utility is a must
- Harris NorthStar CIS experience is a must
- 1-3 years of experience in a billing, accounting or other financial skill set is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function both in a self-directed manner and in a team environment
- Effective time and task management skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- A strong commitment to customer and corporate objectives
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with all MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
