*Description: *ATCO Frontec is seeking a *Heavy Duty Red Seal* *Mechanic* to join our Site Services department in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Mechanic is responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and service of a wide variety of equipment.

*Responsibilities:
Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel powered vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, graders, dump trucks, and excavators
Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machinery
Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
May be called upon to operate other equipment
Other duties as assigned
*Qualifications:
Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required
A valid class 3 drivers license is required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communications skills
Able to manage time and make decisions in a fast paced environment
Able to weld, gas and AC/DC is a strong asset
Experience working in a remote environment is considered an asset
Strong commitment to follow workplace safety requirements and procedures
Able to perform a physically strenuous and demanding job i.e. lifting, pulling and
Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions
*Compensation:
Base wage: $35/h + opportunity for overtime
